Ahhhh.

The barbeque was great! I headed northeast out of Dallas and ran all back roads. I passed through Paris, Texas and then on into Arkansas. I then caught the Talimena Parkway and ran it back west…it’s entire length…back to Robber’s Cave.

Ate barbeque, hung out with friends, met new people, and saw roads and towns I’d never seen before.

I made it home about 2am Sunday morning. All in all, about 700 miles for the day. A successful day I’d say!

I spent all day Sunday down with a severe head cold. It pounced upon me on the way back. A sneezing attack inside a full-face helmet is a traumatic experience to say the least.

I woke up Sunday morning, and after realizing just how bad I felt, downed half a bottle of Nyquil and went back to bed. I didn’t get back up till it was time to go to work Monday. Still not 100%, but better.

As for the barbeque? Was it worth a 700 mile trip? Well, if you must ask, yes, as long as there were friends along the way.

Mmmmm….barbeque. There’s one in New Mexico Memorial Day weekend…That’s about 400 miles each way…

Well…let me look at a map.
