Reach. Grasp. Fall?

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Must my reach always exceed my grasp? Must my dreams always push me beyond my current capabilities? Finiancial, equipment, time, market, employment…always, something is just not quite there.
Yeah, a dream is available. Yep, I could probably swing it for the purchase. It’s a small, friendlier town…off the mains…the perfect place to carry out my writing [...]

You might be a biker if…

Monday, August 25th, 2008

I had to run an errand yesterday that required Big Iron…the 7000 pound 400hp beastie…I simply did not have enough bungee cords to carry what I needed to pick up on The Dragon you see…
Besides, you’re supposed to start those cage thingies every once and a while.
After some searching to actually find the keys [...]

The difference at our core…

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Gavin de Becker, best selling author of the critically acclaimed The Gift of Fear pulls on a lifetime of experience, expertise, and study of violence to teach a message I actually very strongly believe…trust your intuition…listen to your instincts…believe that little voice when it tells you something. It will save your life.
Anyway, he said something [...]

Bought out, layed off, or left behind…

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

That’s what me and all my coworkers are wondering at the moment.
Will we still be here? Should we care? Who will still remain with us if we do?
It’s a complicated job…requiring talented and dedicated people to pull off with even a small margin of quality and efficiency.
Secret meetings, secret numbers, questions about who [...]

And just WHEN did that happen?

Monday, August 18th, 2008

I realized today that here, in this city, I’m immune to the sight of a body lying beside the road.
Yep, sprawled on the sidewalk, under a bridge, right next to the street was a body. I didn’t even give it a second thought at the time, it’s such a normal part of the cityscape that [...]

Working on Storm Rider. Sheesh these characters! They keep trying to take the story in new directions.
I’ve got two sequels in mind…and I haven’t finished the durn original book yet!
Write on!
CUAgain,

Test Pilot

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Referencing my tendency to modify my bike, my way, to suit me…in this case specifically referencing my “other than stock” rear tire:
A snippet from a recent email exchange…
Him: “You know you’re a test pilot don’t you?”
Me: “Yes. Yes I do.”
Him: “That doesn’t bother you?”
Me: “No, not at all. I’ve got news for you. I LIKE [...]

Here we go again…

Friday, August 8th, 2008

My company has announced that through a buyout and if necessary, layoffs, they are getting rid of 500 of us. That’s a big number…we’ll lose lots of talent, and there is already too much to do…I can’t see that number leaving and still having a functional company.
Not sure what it means for me. I find [...]
