Must my reach always exceed my grasp? Must my dreams always push me beyond my current capabilities? Finiancial, equipment, time, market, employment…always, something is just not quite there.
Yeah, a dream is available. Yep, I could probably swing it for the purchase. It’s a small, friendlier town…off the mains…the perfect place to carry out my writing [...]

To all you Mothers out there…well, happy Mother’s Day!
To mine, well, thanks for putting up with me. I know where some ‘O those white hairs came from…Heh…and that’s just the stuff you know about…
Love ya Mom!

Yesterday was me and the wife’s 17th anniversary. Wow. 17 years gone by, just like that.
17 years and and the emotions…the lust…the drive…are as powerful as they ever were.
When we were first married, I thought I understood what my role was and what was expected of me, and more importantly, how to integrate that new [...]

Seems there’s a little bit of urban renewal going on in east Texas. Mom and Mike’s place had a little storm Monday night.
Phoom! There goes the greenhouse!
Fortunately there’s no other damage. Now, if only it had blown further away (like, off the property)…

A special day, you say? I should get my sweetie some sweets?
Heh…yeah okay. Flowers are on the way. Movie and dinner plans.
Life’s short. Y’all love somebody today.

Daniel Meyer

I’m in a great mood today.
Spirit’s lifted, cares swept away…
Why? Well, in no particular order (an “order” would be irrelevant as the factors all address a different side of my being).
–Mom’s feeling better. She’s a tough lady…that one. I’d say something about tough old birds but she’d kick my butt clean into next week.
–Today [...]

They took out her gallbladder. Surgery went well (laparoscopic so the recovery time should be short).
She’ll have to change the way she eats, but should recover fully.
On my way down to see her in an hour or so.
Y’all be safe!
CUAgain,
Daniel Meyer

Got a call last night…I said it when the phone rang…
“That can’t be good.”
Yep. Not good, that is. Of course it seldom is…with me and phones anyway.
Mom was admitted to the hospital with pancreatitis.
Not sure of the progress or treatment at this moment…I’m a couple hundred miles away unfortunately.
All I can do for now [...]

Note:
This is an older post…I found it in my journal…it’s actually from 2005…but it pretty much sums up the way the current holiday season has been going…work and personal life included. Gad, scary how little things have changed. It’s rather educational to see that the problems exist, but I’ve not done anything about it. Gawd [...]

Said goodbye to my cousin Brad this weekend. Yet another memorial service. That’s way too many in recent months.
Brad passed away with little warning due to brain cancer, and was just a couple years older than I am. He leaves behind a teenage daughter as well as his extended family and friends.
Brad was dynamic and [...]
