I guess that's the outcome that was needed...

I don't want somebody to lose their career, but seriously, that was a minor bump, nobody hurt, probably some minor damage to the bike etc. No. Big. Deal.

He should have apologized, done the paperwork, and everybody could go on about their day.

It's an intricate dance...this high-speed swirling stream of concrete, flesh, and steel, and today somebody's missed a step.

Cop rear ends a motorcycle, then blame/bullies the rider to get out of it.

By itself, the hit is minor...not unexpected, cops often ride my ass to try and intimidate me into doing something stupid or making a mistake...but the attitude is what chaps me.

In an ideal world, check for damage, then it is what it is. No need for the attitude at all.

I'd have opted for the tickets and met the guy in court.

It's a hazard...curse...or perhaps a blessing of solo distance travel and eating alone. I seem to attract either hookers or madmen. Sometimes they are one-and-the-same. Makes conversations interesting at least.

What kind of bike?

Are the tires in good condition? No cupping/unusual wear? Properly inflated?

It does happen...

Glad you're not hurt worse than a bruised leg (and ego?).

On the starting thing...most bikes newer than '90 or so have a tip-switch...they won't start after being down until the ignition is turned off for a few seconds. Possibly could have been the issue...

General Discussion / Contagion

42 degrees?.and me riding in a t-shirt, jeans, and light gloves.

State trooper at a gas stop: ?You?re one of those?distance riders aren?t you??

His tone seemed to indicate I should be in quarantine or something?like what I have is contagious.

Hmmm.

Perhaps not far off.

Life?s short. Let?s ride.
