Went to Austria with my SWMBO to pick up the exhausts for my other bike and to do some shopping.
Well... went towards Austria. A guy driving behind me reconed my car was too long and rear ended me.
I will go to the insurance company to assess the damage. Hope its not a total. Damn shame too, I like the car, had it serviced and up and running tip top only two weeks ago.
Some bodging, two shoelaces made the car almost drivable (provided no cops saw me) and an hour later I was at the ER coz my SWMBO has a sore neck. They took some xrays and told her to take an aspirin. The wonders of modern medicine never seize to amaze me.
The weird part is, Im not even pissed off yet.

I like my 1999 VW TDI Jetta - at about 240,000 KM so far, and it runs great.

I dont think they were still making them in 99.

There was the regular TD Jetta, which dates back into the 80's (I owned 2 of them). The TDI is still around, although the 2006 model year is the last you can buy it because of emissions and such. I think there's a different design that's eventually going to come out though.

I got my current car back in 2001.

probbably just another name then.... coz we didnt get those here... only the old model of jetta.
The golf was a golf, the small one polo, the smaller one lupo, there is a fox, then bigger passat and I know there was something in the middle... forgot the name.
Anyway, did power windows ever fail? or CDI?
Happens a lot. Wanted to buy a polo a while back from a friend... 2001..... power windows died, central locking died, ABS died,... not much better with bigger ones. Mercs are crap too.... BMW....well.... are ugly. Not to mention audi. But thats VW again... so, what else we got.... italian cars. Right... dont want to pick up the pieces with a shovel. British.... jag and aston martin have some nice cars, but... well.... no. American... we have a few corners and bends in yurp so that is out too. Japanese are.... a bit too generic.... not to mention the price of spare parts. But at least they work.
Hmmm.... better get another bike Smiley Who cares about the stupid cages anyway.... Grin
You guys ever watch top gear?

I threw them away... they only tend to get the road grime on to the valve stems and I get all dirty chechking the tire pressure  Grin
Besides, its only a cage... who cares how it looks. Smiley

you must be a biker. function first. form later, if it fits your program. I have been accused of "throwing away perfectly good parts". yup, a biker. I think it gets in your blood. the dirt.
