What LittleInsect rides
« on: May 17, 2006, 04:37:50 PM »

LittleInsect is lucky. In her garage is a Honda NTV650 Deauville
Honda CB1300S
Terry
The LittleInsect

The first two are pretty ordinary bikes - the CB1300S is very pretty, in fact.

Terry is new - 3 weeks old today, in fact. He's a handsome Honda CBF1000 (don't think you get that in the US yet.

The LittleInsect is very special. It's a Honda Hornet600 (that's a 599 to you folks), very old, and well travelled, and ever-evolving. Not got a recent shot of it, but this is how it was 6 months ago:

gorgeous bikes. I've always loved the Honda Hornet. Don't think they're brought here or I'd probably be looking for one...

As it is, I'm on a Kawasaki Ninja 650r. Don't let the "N" word fool you-- it's more like a faired standard motorcycle. I wanted a KLR650, but I am inseam-challenged...

Where are you? If you're in the USA, then the Hornet600 is called a 599 over there, and the Hornet900 is a 919

Is the 650r what we in the UK know as a ER-6N ?

well crud, wish I'd known that. :D

The 650r is what you in the UK know as the ER6F [f for faired]

Wish we could get the colors you guys have over there- this bike would be gorgeous in yellow. I may well have to repaint her at some point.

If you get the chance to ride one, do so Daniel. I'm on my third one (2 x CBF1000S and now CBF1000FA) and I love them to bits. They can be good long-distance reliable tourers, and scratching, manic toys according to which side of the bed you get out of.

And so.......................

a few months later, and it's all change again.

Currently still have the CBF1000FA and the VFR800X Cross-Runner

But these have been joined by the NC700X

(with a fuel consmption of around 80mpg!) and a custom painted Hornet 600
