One of my guiding principles...one of my "creedos", if you will, is simply, "Add Content".
That's not just referencing the internet. In fact, it's not about the internet at all.
Add Content. Make the world a richer place than when you entered it. Do this in your own style and unique way.
Add Content. A drawing. A song. An idea. A painting. A book (or four or five). A building. A garden.
A memory.
Add content. Create. Try it sometime. Strangely addictive.
I've been looking for a way to get the pictures out of my head...to communicate my experiences to the reader. Writing is one way...and one that I hope I am becoming proficient at...but I have an interest in the visual arts as well.
The problem always has been that although I clearly know what I want to communicate...in the visual art area I lack the skills to translate that to paper.
But I'm learning...
Here is my gallery of images created in my practice or playing with the visual arts. Some are nice, some suck. The scraps and experiments are here as well as "more refined" works. Some are class excercises where the time was limited and the subjects were suggested by the instructor, some are my own demented mind at work. These are more or less in reverse order of when I created them (newest at the top)
I'm not sure any of them are worthy of the label "art", but they're mine, and I enjoyed creating them. I'm not often going for "realism"...or a photograph would do instead of a painting or drawing. Rather, I consider a piece a success if it generates an emotional response or at least some thought. "Art" is a tremendously subjective thing. I sincerely hope you find something here that strikes your fancy, or perhaps, inspires you to Add Content.
